“Allow for the Curvature of the Earth (Walking Painting)” 2018-present
Wax, indigo, natural dyes, found textiles on silk and cotton
This is an ongoing artwork which reflects the world around it and continues to shrink and grow. The piece was started on the arctic island of Skomvaer off the coast of Northern Norway, and there became a walking painting. The materials used include Indian silk saris, pieces of fabric found washed up on shore, natural indigo and other plant dyes found on the island. Its immediate environment can be considered part of the artwork, as well the artwork can be considered part of its environment.
