Painted in Mae Rim, Thailand,
Traditional Batik techniques using watercolor, water, and natural dyes, and applied to paper. The paintings followed a compositional formula which consisted of a dot/mark configuration : a countdown of dots. 5 rows of marks/dots. 5,4,3,2,1. Or 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 and so on. The only other component of the formula was to connect the dots with a single line. Color and additional marks happened organically. Other paintings happened too. Thank you Cate Stim-Fogel and Sasha Stim-Fogel for the studio.
